Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Drama or Performing Arts to join a supportive secondary school in Tamworth from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or experienced Teacher to work within a welcoming and well-resourced department, with access to strong mentoring and professional development.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Drama or Performing Arts and committed to delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to develop commercial awareness, analytical thinking, and an understanding of the modern business world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4 
  • Support students in developing knowledge and understanding of key business concepts and real-world applications
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and participation
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
  • Participate fully in wider school life and enrichment opportunities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending successful completion of teacher training
  • Degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Drama 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and respond positively to feedback
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
